Surrounded by unspoilt nature and on the right bank of the Algars river, you can contemplate the remains of the Old Castle of Sant Joan. Located on the outskirts of the town of Batea, the fortress retains a pointed arch, part of a tower and some wall sections. At the foot of the castle you will find the small Gothic church of Sant Joan d'Algars from which opens a magnificent panoramic view of the valley, with the river meandering in the background.
