Among all the seafood of the Delta we highlight the prawns of Sant Carles de la Ràpita, of the species `Penaeus kerathurus´, spread throughout the Mediterranean. They are easily recognizable for their black eyes, slight black spots on the skin and a consistent musculature. This product has been part of both the usual cuisine of the area and that of fishermen's boats, and has now become a tourist attraction. The most typical recipe in the Tierras del Ebro region is grilled pawn, cooked in a hot plate with thick salt.
