Melocotones de la Ribera d'Ebre

Gastronomy

It is the main sweet fruit crop of the Ribera d'Ebre, with 1,600 hectares, since the inclusion of irrigated plantations in the Terres de l'Ebre. In this region are peaches of white flesh and red skin are harvested as well as those of yellow flesh and red skin, which are the predominant ones, with a very juicy pulp and a very intense flavour; and also  the `pavia´ variety, yellow and hard flesh and yellow skin with red tones, and nectarines. It is an early and very sweet fruit thanks to the high temperatures of spring, which make it mature earlier and adds more sugar.
