The Museum of Tortosa is located in the city´s old slaughterhouse. It is located in the neighborhood of Sant Jaume, next to the Ebro river, and is considered one of the best Modernist buildings of the city. We may point out its architecture distributed in 11 pavilions and diverse spaces representing a total surface of 5,500 m2, of which more than 2,000 are construct. The collection is very heterogeneous, both in terms of the typologies of materials, as the thematic and in the chronologies. It is composed of archaeological, historical, ethnological and artistic elements, and includes materials that correspond to a broad chronology, from prehistory to the 20th century.
