The Fontcalda Sanctuary has been documented since the 14th century, although the current church dates from the 18th century and of neoclassical style. In 1936, during the Spanish Civil War, the sanctuary was burned and the Baroque altar and the ancient image of the Virgin that was housed were destroyed.
This magnificent natural space, green due to the proximity of the river, is located in the municipality of Gandesa.
