The Celler Xavier Clua is located in Vilalba dels Arcs, in the Catalan region of Terra Alta, a dry land territory where the cultivation of the vineyard and the production of wine has a tradition of medieval origin.
For four generations, the surname Clua has been linked to the work of the vineyard and wine production. The latest generation, led by Xavier Clua, accumulates the experience of this winemaking tradition with university training that provides the introduction of new techniques and working methods of the vineyard and the vinification of its products.
With this new season, in 1995, the small family business went from the production of wine in bulk to the production of bottled and quality products. A leap that preserves, however, a limited production that allows a careful selection of the grapes produced on their farms, as well as a careful monitoring and control of their vinification.
Gradually, the products of the Celler Xavier Clua are making a name for themselves in the world of wine and the family business is growing, incorporating new values into the project such as Rosa Domènech. A growth that requires the provision of new facilities, more extensive and modern, which became a reality in 2006, with the construction of a new winery.
The new facilities combine architectural modernity, which facilitates daily work in the winery, with the inherited tradition and love of the land, the vineyard and the wine that the members of the Clua family bring, day by day, to their products.
