Confraria de Pescadors Sant Joan de Deltebre
The Sant Joan Fishermen’s Guild is a non-profit organization that was set up in 1982 to respond to and serve the needs of fishermen in the area. It has a large activity of both sea fishing and river fishing (eel), currently consists of 72 members (fishermen and shellfish) and 18 boats engaged in small gear.
It consists of facilities in its tax office where it provides different services to its members: fish auction (Monday to Friday at 11:30), documentation management (Social Security, Territorial Services, Maritime Captaincy, etc.). , courses for the training and updating of fishermen, turnover and accounting.
In order to diversify economic activity, the brotherhood decided to promote a project to create a fishmonger to increase the added value of seafood and create new opportunities linked to this sector. La Peixateria is located on Avinguda del Canal s / n in Deltebre.
The same premises also carry out the activity of purification of molluscs and invertebrates, with a daily capacity of approximately 3,000 kg.
