We are a small organic wine cellar of the DO Tarragona, located in the town of Rasquera (Tarragona), in the region of Ribera d'Ebre, between the counties of Priorat and Terra Alta. It is the only organic winery in the D.O. Tarragona.
Our philosophy is to produce little and well. That is, prioritize quality over quantity and always within what is organic farming.
When we acquired the farm where the activity takes place, which was sold together with the house of the village where we live, we always considered the possibility of planting the traditional crops of this area and that during the 70s, 80s and 90s they got lost. These crops had always been the vineyard and the olive tree. For this reason, we have preserved all the great centuries-old olive trees and some of the millennial ones on the estate. But in order to be able to cultivate the vineyard, it was necessary to move some of these olive trees to other plots on the same estate, and this is what we did. Once we decided to cultivate it, we decided that since we were returning to traditional crops, why didn’t we work the land as well as we used to, without herbicides, insecticides or chemical fertilizers. That's why we decided on organic farming. We want to produce and sell quality and health. This is our first and foremost message.
The second message on which the project is based is the promotion of the consumption of organic products and for this, we must offer the customer a product as good as that of the competition in conventional cultivation and at a price not much higher or even equal, quality for quality. That is why we understand that the price of our wines should not be very far from non-organic wines with a similar amount. We want to give more for a similar price.
