Infosa, current owner since 1946 of the facilities and the concession of operation of the Salines de la Trinitat.
The Salinas de la Trinitat are located in Punta de la Banya, on the Alfacs peninsula, at the western end of the Delta de l'Ebre, in the province of Tarragona and connected to the mainland by Trabucador beach.
Its 970ha of exploitation generates an unrepeatable ecological habitat of aquifers and wetlands with different degrees of salinization and microhabitats very rich in nutrients where 85% of the population of the endangered Corsican gull nests and maintains the its low density, or inhabits the only colony of flamingos that breed in Catalonia, as well as a dense population of ducks and waders of the most numerous in Spain.
It is one of the main salt mines producing salt in Spain and the only salt mine in Catalonia. With an average annual production of 80,000 tons of salt, Infosa is a modern Salinera company dedicated to the extraction and marketing of Salt in different consumer markets and for the multiple applications of sea salt in general.
All the complex processes of collection, transformation, elaboration, packaging and commercialization of our Marine Salt, are governed by strict internal controls and are guaranteed by the certification ISO 9001 in management and processing of processes and by the demanding Certificate of Security BRC food that guarantees the quality of the final product.
Our global range of products allows us to have all kinds of salts for different consumption segments, mainly Salts for Water Treatment and Descaling, Salt for Swimming Pools, Salts for Industry, Salts for Food and Salt for thawing. It is in the food channel where we have obtained authorization for our products to use the Biosphere Reserve badge, which also highlights our range of premium products aimed at a market with high added value such as the Gourmet.
