GR99, etapa 37: Almatret - Flix

The stage begins on the eastern side of the Almatret plains from where there is a sharp descent down the slopes of the Escambriu to the banks of the Ebro, level with the Riba-roja d’Ebre bridge. This marks the beginning of a very different area.

We follow the towpath along the left bank of the Ebro as far as Flix, passing the Sebes Natural Reserve where one can visit their Interpretation Centre and birdwatching facilities. After crossing the Flix dam, we climb up to the village’s old town located in the narrow neck of a bend in the river.
