GR99, etapa 39: Móra d'Ebre - Benifallet

From Mora d’Ebre one follows the Camí de les Sénies path that goes through the Benissanet orchards and into the historic centre of Miravet. The town is one of the most emblematic sights in the lower part of the Ebro, complementing its natural environment with the ruins of a Templar castle.

Here the flat part of the route finishes and a steep stretch begins as we get closer to the GR 99 at the end of the Catalan coastal mountain range. The Pas de Barrufemes allows us to move along the flank of the river along a ledge on top of a vertical wall before crossing onto the left bank of the river along the Llaguter bridge. We then arrive in Benifallet amidst a landscape of orange and fruit trees.
