GR99, etapa 40: Benifallet - Tortosa

Retracing our steps at the end of Stage 39, we cross the Llaguter bridge and go down to the banks of the Ebro to follow the C-12 road to the Canaletes ravine where we start to climb up to the old Benifallet train station. We make the most of the Lower Ebro Natural Path to miss three ravines by going over viaducts on the way to the Xerta dam and then the enter the village itself.

You then arrive at the Aldover vegetable gardens (the town has the largest river beach of the Ebro). After passing Roquetes, home to the El Ports Natural Park Interpretation Centre, we cross the iron bridge to arrive in Tortosa.
