GR99, etapa 42: Amposta - Riumar

The GR 99, “The Ebro Natural Footpath”, finishes at this stage with a long and flat route through the Ebro Delta Natural Park and the rice fields of the wetlands. On leaving Amposta we follow the left-hand canal to go through the different neighbourhoods of Deltebre.

Along the bank of the Ebro river we pass the new village fishing port and we climb up to the small Muntell de les Verges lookout point where one can see the Garxal Lighthouse that officially marks the estuary of the River Ebro. By going around the Garxal lagoon, a part of the Natural Park, we arrive at the maritime promenade of the town of Riumar, both the end of this stage and the end of the GR 99.
