Itinerari El Teix i el Tossal d'Engrilló

El Tossal de Engrilló (1,072m) is the highest peak in Els Montsagres offering panoramic views of the Terra Alta region, El Matarranya and the Ebro Delta. We find ourselves surrounded by dry and windy mountain crests with sparse shrub vegetation dominated by thorny cushion bushes. It is easy to get a glimpse of flocks of mountain goats (Capra pyrenaica subsp. Hispanica). Going down the trail, we meet the Tejo de Engrilló, a yew tree declared monumental.
